| BIOGRAPHY |
Henry Kloss, a native of Franklin, was a member of the Board of Trustees for Elk Grove High School for 21 years
and a member of the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors for 16 years. Known widely throughout the county as
"the farmer's friend", Supervisor Kloss represented the largely rural 5th District from 1963 to 1978.
He chaired the Board in 1965 and 1970, and has to his credit the emergence of Sacramento County as a leader in
the state in terms of management and long range planning. The county softball complex in Elk Grove Park is named
in his honor and he was named Citizen of the Year in 1977 for his many contributions to local organizations,
affairs and events.
